Heater and fluid evidence

Hot Oil Truck Burner: Fuel-Train and Ignition Supply Scope

A burner model name is not a complete fuel and ignition package. Ask what is included between the available fuel source and the supplied heater.

Identify the actual fuel and equipment boundary

Provide the proposed fuel information and relevant supply conditions for the burner-provider review. Request a clear boundary from external storage or supply equipment to the actual installed burner. A dual-fuel label does not establish every required upstream function or automatic switching capability. Ask the bidder to state the exact offered arrangement, included devices and external responsibilities rather than infer a complete fuel system from a reference burner photograph.

List the supplied fuel-handling functions

Ask which pumps, conditioning items, valves, relevant instruments and associated functions belong to the actual offer. Keep provider information and component identifiers connected. A component list can be useful without establishing every accepted service condition or complete assembly behavior. The purchasing schedule should make required external resources visible and avoid assuming that a generic burner accessory kit is appropriate for every fuel source, installation and destination project.

Separate ignition, indication and protective actions

Request an understandable description of the actual ignition-related functions, flame indication, alarms and automatic actions included. These are different capabilities and should not be inferred from a general automatic-burner statement. Keep relevant dependencies and control ownership explicit. Procurement should obtain function evidence without prescribing settings, giving a field ignition sequence or authorizing bypasses; actual firing and operation require manufacturer-approved information and competent project procedures.

Connect burner functions to the complete heater

Ask the integrator to identify how the supplied burner interfaces with the heater’s actual fluid and supporting systems. Burner-only evidence does not describe every function of the assembled hot oil unit. Retain the boundaries between component-provider claims and integrated verification. A flame-related function should not be presented as complete protection of every hot-fluid or wellsite hazard, and an HMI display alone does not establish that all relevant automatic actions were checked.

Agree configuration-specific verification and records

Identify real devices, simulated conditions and any remaining site checks in the accepted test scope. Ask what records identify the delivered fuel and ignition arrangement and how substitutions are reviewed. A successful brief light-off demonstration does not substantiate every supply-degradation or protective-function question. Keep final component references and restrictions so future fuel changes or service replacements receive the relevant assessment rather than automatically inherit the original general burner approval.

Compare supplied functions rather than automation labels

Require the bidder to identify actual equipment, accepted fuel conditions and relevant function evidence at the complete heater boundary. Keep fuel suitability, ignition, flame observation and automatic actions distinguishable but reconciled. A useful offer can be reviewed without claiming unrestricted unattended operation or universal compatibility with every available fuel. Retain external resources, installation limitations and responsible verification ownership so the purchaser understands what is delivered and what still needs competent review before the selected heating assignment is accepted.

Suggested wording for the quotation request

Itemize the proposed hot oil truck burner’s fuel-train and ignition scope for the attached fuel information. Identify supplied devices, external resources, control ownership, relevant flame and automatic-action functions, and configuration-specific verification. State restrictions and simulated coverage. Do not treat an automatic or dual-fuel label as proof of every upstream function, switching capability or complete-unit protection requirement.

Select the hot oil flushing unit as an identified heating and circulation package for the reviewed fluid and duty. Keep useful thermal output, simultaneous pressure and rate, working duration, coil, burner, pump, tank and control functions on one accepted basis. External receiving connections, fluid recovery, returned-fluid assessment and well-control duties need explicit responsibility boundaries. A component maximum or truck photograph does not establish the complete supplied arrangement. Request relevant provider records, assembly evidence and limitations. Actual operation and maintenance require competent personnel, equipment-specific manufacturer information and approved project procedures rather than an assumed universal treatment sequence.

For the wider equipment scope, consult the Hot Oil Flushing Unit: Safety Systems Guide. Use the RFQ checklist to collect the supporting documents before requesting a configuration-specific quotation.

Buyer questions

Does an automatic burner label establish every ignition and protection function?

No. Request the actual device, function and verification schedule.

Does burner-only evidence qualify the complete hot oil heater?

No. Reconcile component claims with the assembled heater and relevant site boundaries.
